I’ve updated (almost) all the gens on the site now. There about 10 or so I need to convert to the new format, but they are a bit more fiddly and complicatedto work with so will be working on those as and when I can, but, for the most part, the conversions are done!
For anytone who wasn’t aware, I was using other tools and sites to make/design/host the gens, but found issues with relying on other, of if they changed things etc, this way I now have complete control, even if it took a bit of learning and work, but was worth it
Now, I can work on adding more gen to the site – But …with an important difference!
The new ones will be “samplers” – in that they won’t have the full content like the current ones do, but about 20% of full ones, so you can still get something to use, see how things go , and i’m not litterally giving away my work, as I will eventually be selling the “full” gens, list pickers etc!
Things that I *will* do!
- Keep any existsing free/full gens as free to use, won’t be retrocativly changing that
- Work on having a sampler-gen for whatever I can (but this WILL take time)
- Keep the gen testing page public – but be warned that page may break/have issues as its a testing page, sometimes might even be blank
- Keep a link to the og gen/pdf either for DTRPG or a itch.io widget on the page
Things that I *may or try to* do!
- Have paid-patron locked access to full gens (looking into this – its on the to-do list)
- Put much older gens up in full when a sequal gen is brought out
- Have freebies added just because
- Re-arange the categories/pages if needed
- Open up hosting offers for other TTRPG creators online gens etc, to help promote others AND get things for myself – These won’t be locked or anything
Things that I *won’t* do!
- Charge/lock existsing free gens, pickers and anything like that that is currently on the site
- Take ideas for gens – This opens me up to potential legal issues if I bring one out and sell it and someone goes “You used my idea, you owe me monies!”
- Use Gen-AI in making these or in content, including any artwork…if you have to ask why…..
Oh, i’ve also re-enabled comments on the pages/posts now, but , if it gets bad again, I’ll turn them off again or heavily restrict them.
