Goals, possible issues etc

Primary Goals

  • To make an easy to read/use catalogue for things I make and where to get them
  • to make it easier and quicker to add and update new items

Possible Issues/things to keep in mind

  • Sometimes the itch widgets break
  • The more work that is required for each listing , images, links etc, the longer it will take and the less likely i’ll have time to add more
  • Not eveything I have is available on all platforms or uploaded yet for various reasons, so updating/changing needs to be reasonably simple/easy/quick to do
  • DTRPG has both a legacy and “new” format, which both have their own potential issues
  • Visuals based link, such as the itch widget, imrpvoes the “look”, but increases storgage space, work required with uploading, getting images etc etc
  • Sizes of tables etc can be adjusted later as required
  • Would a long list work of items/products or something else?
  • Longer lists can make pages slow to load but have everything in one place
  • Multiple pages are quicker to load, but have things spread across multiple locations and take more work to set up and organise

Possible Ideas/Solutions

  • Some kind of “shopping” cart or catalogue system plugin? needs to have links though and be either free or low price

Current Listing Format

I’m testing formats for updating the listing pages, seeing what works etc, keeping in mind that , so far, only really Itch has a widget like system, whilsty RPGTrader does have images it doesnt have an auto-updating widget like itch , so for now, this is just testing the layout for product listings and so on, for indivdual items, collections etc will be tested once a format is deceded on.
