I know, shocking, a real update!
Things on the blog/site here have been rather absent with regards to new content the last month or two. To put it simply, i’ve been struggling doing work on the blog for a while, mainly because of free time and so on.
But, i’ve not been sitting on my butt , been working on other things, and being a one person operation (not inc the fuzzy supervisor), means I only have a limited amount of time in the day.
Anyway, enough self-pity..what have I been up to/working on?
New Site Gen Template
As many know I’ve had …issues…in the past with using other stuff/third party software/code etc for running my gens. Whilst this did speed the making them process up, it also meant i was beholden to other third parties and if they had issues, so did I.
As such I’ve been learning, very simple and crude so far, Javascript and other related things to make my own generator code and now have a working version 1.0 template, an example of which can be found here on the public test page!
Be warned, as this is a test page, things can and probably will break, have issues etc from time to time.
This , for me, was the hardest part was making a template that could be expanded, and added to in a way I could understand , be happy with how it looked and have complete control over.
- I won’t be changing or updating the older templates/formats unless they break.
- As time goes by and I learn new things, I can make them more complex, look snazzy etc.
- Adding options and correcting errors is now easier for me
- Not beholden to other software, providers
Downside is it does take a bit more work from me, in regards to set-up and making them, but, with some clever spreadhseet style shenanigans I can work around that and spead that side of things up as well!
Images CAN be added from me/hosted here on EG, but, due to how JS/HTML works will involve a lot of prep and MAY be an issue on certain browsers, mobiles etc. This is a “maybe” thing, but is now more possible than before!
I am hoping to get the Ennead Games Advent 2025 stuff finalised over the new few days my end – The new zapper and Make set-up i’m using for promos did take ages to set-up but, is now much more easier to shedule posts for.
Tl:dr – Got some new things , been busy, did some stuff!
