A few of you eagle eyed visitors may have spotted the new section labeld [Galleries] on the menu. Well, its what you think it is, a series of galleries and albums for various images and screenshots I want to share!
Its VERY much a WIP right now, as I only got the plugin, NextGEN Gallery, aka NGG, yesterday and still learning the ropes for it, so the layout etc. has a very high chance of changing as I sort of things and learn the ins and outs of the system.
To begin with there are some placeholder images and , for games, I wont be uploading every image or screenshot because I’d run out of space and it would be unweildly, plus, I want to to make sure each has at least some simple alt text done for each one.
So far the various sections I have planned will be for :
- Game/Stream screenshots
- WIP, samples (like for maps , tiles etc)
- Misc/Other, which will be a catch all for ones that don’t fit into their own category . If it warranst it, things here will be moved to their own sections, but not if only one or two items.
- Testing – This will be open to the public but fully expect links, images etc to be broken, to change and be added, missing alt-text and so on. One of the options NGG has is for links to websites etc, but this seems more fiddly and time consuming to set up, hence why i’ll be using it testing. Whilst I will have a private testing gallery, apublic one can help for things that might not show up on my side of things.
Of course i’ll probably be adding other sections as time goes by and removing others.
It’t won’t be updated on a regular schedule, but when it warrants it, such as taking down a major boss in game or a map tile i’ve made i want to keep showing off etc. Older images may be removed if space runs out, as I will have to remember that the site storage space is not as big as my streaming rigs hardrive and so on.
