This carries on from yesterdays post about generall update on the state of things.
- Bulk Content Uploader – Funny enough about 20 mins after posting I found a Plugin/Tool that does almost 100% what I need – I say “almost” because the only other feature I would like they have behind a paywall, which is to do with Featured Images..Not an issue for me as the rest of features it has does what I need – it’s called [WP ALL IMPORT] – This is on my list of things to get the paid version of when I have spare cash! Too often paid features are just too niche or there is just one thing i need and the rest will be , metaphroically sitting on the sidelines never used, a waste of money sometimes.
- Related to the above – WAI does have its own way of doing things/quirks as with anything, but a quick chat with the dev team cleared up the confusion about formatting, such as the date format and so on.
- This being sorted, I now have to plan out the CSV/Spreadsheet I’ll be using for bulk post uploading. WAI being very flexible is great, but does mean some odd things happen as I get used to it. It might cause some weird posts to be shown as I format things, get workflow sorted and so on, as I’m trying to get sveral systems that were never designed to work together, to..well..work together.
- WAI looks like it also does bulk pages set-up, which will, again help a lot, but a quick glance shows me it’s more fiddly to set up, but again, once set up, will hopefully speed things up a lot..hopefully!
As I mentioned yestersay, I’m trying to “reboot/revitalise” both the blog and Ennead Games after the summer heat-wave caused me issues and caused plans to go out the window. Having bulk-posts uploaded is one problem thats currently being solved.
The other thing I mentioned was about re-doing the product pages, to have both widgets for itch etc AND Maybe a reduced/sampler gen to show what can be done. I won’t be going through the older ones , at least not to start with, but is on the “lets see if i can do it” task pile.
