Creature Description Generator Volume 10 - Mutations

This week’s PDF’s highlights is one of my favourites, and one of my largest ones clocking in at 110 pages, and covers mutations – “Creature Description Generator Volume 10 – Mutations”.

This is one of the PDFs was made to be used with other PDFs/products I’ve made, as it tweaks and adds changes and variations to existing lifeforms, with not all of them being beneficial mutations, as evolution “tries out new ideas to see what works!”. Works well with any genre, but some of the mutations may need tweaking as appropriate for the setting.

As this is over 50 pages, this is on the list for being made into POD (print on demand) but the process of doing that is a lot more fiddly than people think, printing requirements are a LOT stricter when compared to PDF – worth it, but very time-consuming with little room for error in the formatting it needs…image errors/typo not counting!

So this set this week’s “theme” as Mutatant and Mutations!

Creature Description Generator – Volume 10 – Mutations

Mutants – The word can conjure fear and sometimes revulsion. They are the same as you, yet different. Some perceive them as a threat, as a hidden danger walking amongst all good and right-minded folk, whilst some see them as the next stage in evolution for many species.

They are pitied, they are feared, they are treated as outcasts. Yet a few rise above the hatred, ignoring the braying mob and doing the right thing no matter what.

They can become heroes, villains or horrible creatures with abilities not seen anywhere else. They are here to stay and you could be sitting right next to one right now.

CDG – 10 Mutations is, unlike others in the Creature Description Generator series designed to take an already existing being and give them a twist or two, turning that mundane creature into something special.

Designers Note
Whilst this publication is designed to be useful in as many genres as possible, some of the mutations may require a bit of tweaking to fit in with your chosen genre, such as psionics replacing magic in a sci-fi or near modern setting and so on.

  • 500 possible mutations – Some good, some bad others downright dangerous
  • Many of the mutations have sub-versions or variations
  • A system for categorizing how strong the mutations are
  • Some suggested side-effects to go along with them
